UNESCO experts suggest preservation measures for Hue relics
Thua Thien-Hue (VNA) - UNESCO experts Christian Pedelahore and
Jean-Jacques Dupuy have recommended central Thua Thien-Hue provincial
authorities ensure the harmony of construction works and Hue relics'
scenery in urban architectural planning.
The two French experts made the recommendations during their working visit
to former imperial Hue city from Sept. 15-25 to assess the preservation of
Hue relics and the urban development in the province.
They suggested the provincial authorities to pay special attention to the
coordination among relevant branches and industries in relics management and
the logical exploitation and utilisation of Huong (Perfume) river as well as
the architectural design of a new bridge to be built across Huong river.
They also asked Thua Thien-Hue province to make a dossier to UNESCO for its
recognition of Huong river banks as the world's heritage site, reduce noise
pollution surrounding Hue relics, and use painting colours to make
architectural works match with natural landscape.
The provincial authorities should promote the image of Hue relics and the
application of information technology in managing Hue relic system which
has specific characteristics and is a harmonious combination of natural
space and architectural works, they said.
Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Ngo Hoa spoke highly of
UNESCO's contributions and asked for its continued support and assistance to
the preservation and promotion of the value of Hue relic
system.
