Seoul city signs deal with Man U
SEOUL, Sept. 26 (Yonhap) -- The city of Seoul signed a one-year sponsorship deal with English Premier League leader Manchester United, city officials said Friday.
The deal worth 2.7 billion won (US$2.5 million) makes the Seoul Metropolitan
Government one of the Manchester club's official sponsors during the 2008-2009
Premier League, officials said.
South Korean midfielder Park Ji-sung has been a member of the famed squad since
2005, winning the second title of his career in the ultra-competitive Premier
League in the last season.
According to the deal, the Seoul city will be able to use the 100 meter-long
electric board to present 90-second promotional trailers.
The logo of the city brand "Hi Seoul" will be exposed on the official website and
during the press interviews, officials said.
