Syria's welfare is Turkey's welfare, says PM Erdogan

ISTANBUL (A.A) - November 17, 2011 - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Thursday that they considered Syria's welfare and tranquility to be Turkey's welfare and tranquility. Speaking at the Third Black Sea Energy and Economic Forum organized by the Atlantic Council in Istanbul, Erdogan said that they made great efforts to facilitate tranquility and stability in Syria. Despite warnings by Turkey, many countries and the Arab League, bloodshed in Syria has continued. As Turkey, we continue to make warnings for a peaceful solution in Syria, Erdogan said. We consider Syria's stability to be the stability of the region. We call on regional countries to display sensitivity for stability in Syria, Erdogan said. Touching on Turkey's fight against terror, Erdogan said that "so far, Turkey has not received sufficient support from the world in counter-terrorism". While our diplomatic efforts led to certain positive results in counter-terrorism, we have noticed that certain European and regional countries do not share Turkey's sensitivity on terrorists, Erdogan said. I would like to remind you that terrorist attacks on Turkey have a human dimension and pose a serious risk to regional economy and energy supply security, Erdogan also said.
