Saffour: 4,420 Syrians killed so far in incidents

ANKARA (A.A) - November 17, 2011 - Chairman Walid Saffour of Syrian Human Rights Committee (SHRC), a London-based independent human rights organization, has said that 4,420 people had been killed so far during incidents in Syria.
SHRC has been announcing the incidents in Syria since the first day the protests against the government began as well as the number of wounded and killed Syrians to the world via international media.
Speaking to AA on Thursday, Saffour said that SHRC was founded in 1997, and the members of the organizations were not identified.
Saffour said that their members were volunteers, and SHRC had members in Saudi Arabia, Jordan and European countries too.
According to our statistics, 4,420 people have been killed in Syria so far, but according to activists in Syria, the death toll is higher, he said.
Saffour said that Syrian opponents would be stronger and in more solidarity after the recent decision of the Arab League.
Arab League has recently suspended Damascus from its meetings and imposed sanctions against the Syrian regime over its failure to end crackdown on pro-democracy protesters.
