Hungarian president: we will do our best to help Turkey combat terrorism

KUTAHYA (A.A) - Hungarian President Pal Schmitt has said that Hungary would do its best to help Turkey in its fight against terrorism. Schmitt was presented an honorary doctorate by Dumlupinar University in western province of Kutahya on Wednesday. Speaking at the ceremony, Schmitt said that Turkey and Hungary had 1,000-year-old relationship. Noting that Hungary strongly condemned every type of terrorism with a determined manner, Schmitt said that recent terrorist attacks in Turkey were unacceptable, adding that Hungary would do its best to help Turkey in combatting terrorism. Recalling that Hungary had been an EU member for more than seven years, Schmitt said that they accepted Turkey as an important part of European countries. Schmitt said that they were determined to support Turkey's accession to the EU.
