Clinton visits Thailand

BANGKOK, November 16 (TNA) - U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton arrived in Bangkok on Tuesday for her two-day official visit to Thailand, during which she is expected to discuss ways Washington can contribute to relieve the Kingdom's ongoing flooding crisis. The U.S. Embassy to Thailand confirmed Clinton's arrival in the Thai capital, saying that the U.S. Secretary of State is scheduled to hold a joint press conference with Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra at Government house at 7p.m. on Tuesday evening (Thailand's time). According to the U.S. Embassy statement, Clinton is also scheduled to visit a temporary shelter for flood victims provided by the Sports Authority of Thailand in the city's Hua Mak District at 7 a.m. on Wednesday. Clinton will later fly to Indonesia's resort Bali Island to take part in the ASEAN Summit 2011 and related forums, being held from November 15-19. (TNA)
