Turkey's budget deficit down 92.6 percent

ANKARA (A.A) - November 15, 2011 - Turkey's budget deficit dropped 92.6 percent in January-October period of 2011 when compared to the same period of 2010. According to a report of Finance Ministry; budget deficit, which had been 23.1 billion Turkish lira (TL) in January-October period of 2010, dropped to 1.7 billion TL in the same period of 2011. (one USD equals 1.787 TL)  Budget income increased 17.8 percent to 243.7 billion TL in January-October 2011 when compared to the same period of 2010. Budget expenses increased 6.7 percent to 245.4 billion TL in January-October 2011 when compared to the same period of 2010. Budget deficit had been 23.1 billion TL in January-October 2010, and it dropped 92.6 percent to 1.7 billion TL in the same period of 2011. Primary surplus rose 95 percent to 35.8 billion TL in January-October 2011 when compared to the same period of 2010. Budget deficit, which was 1.8 billion TL in October 2010, was recorded as 1.9 billion TL in October 2011. Primary surplus was 351 million TL in October 2010, and it was 769 million TL in October 2011.
