Industrial turnover index up 40.3 percent

ANKARA (A.A) - November 15, 2011 - Industrial Turnover Index increased 40.3 percent in September 2011 when compared to September 2010. It also rose 6.8 percent when compared to August 2011, stated TurkStat on Tuesday. In the sub sectors level of industry; mining and quarrying index increased 51.7 percent, while manufacturing index rose 39.9 percent in September 2011 when compared to September 2010. According to main industrial groupings classification, the highest increase was recorded in energy sector in September 2011. In sub sectors of manufacturing industry, the highest increase was seen in manufacture of other transport equipment. When the change rates of Industrial Turnover Index in September 2011 compared to September 2010 were inspected; the highest increase was seen in manufacture of other transport equipment by 88.3 percent, followed by manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products by 85.4 percent.
