PGAS WINS RP5.63 TRILLION CONTRACT FOR GAS SUPPLY TO PLN

Jakarta, Sept 26 (ANTARA) - State gas distributor PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGAS) has won a Rp5.63 trillion contract for the supply of gas to state power utility PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) for 10 years.
"The contract was signed by PGAS President Director Hendi Prio Santoso and PLN President Director Fahmi Mochtar in Jakarta on Thursday (Sept 25)," PGAS Corporate Secretary Heri Yusuf said here on Friday.
Under the contract, PGN would supply 30 million cu feet of gas to PLN per day, he said.
The gas would come from gas wells in South Sumatra and later be supplied to a thermal power plant (PLTGU) in Cilegon, Banten, through the South Sumatra-West Java natural gas transmission network, he said.
"The gas price agreed upon is equal to the selling price applicable to industries," he said.
Earlier, PGAS also signed a gas sale purchase agreement with PLN for the supply of gas to PLTGU Muara Tawar and PLTGU Tanjung Priok.
Both companies are also expected to sign a contract for the supply of 8 million cubic feet of gas per day (MMSCFD) to PLTG Talang Duku in South Sumatra province in October 2008.
PLN and PGN had reached the final round of negotiations on the contract, Chief of PLN's Primary Energy Unit Nasri Sebayang said after the signing of a contract between PLN and PGN for the supply of gas to PLTGU Cilegon here on Thursday.
