Prince Khalid al-Faisal to patronize forum on water and energy
Jeddah, Sept 26, SPA -- Prince Khalid al-Faisal, the Governor of
Makkah region, will patronize on November 2, 2008, the international
fourth Saudi forum on water and energy, due to be organized here by
the ministry water electricity and the saline water conversion
corporation (SWCC).
More than 3000 experts are scheduled to participate in this 4-day
conference.
In a statement to SPA, minister of water and electivity Eng. Abdullah
al-Hussein underscored the importance of the forum, and said the
organization of the forum embodies the great attention being given by
the Kingdom to the sectors of water and energy.
He urged the concerned parties at the private and public sectors to
participate in the forum.
The forum will discuss a number of topics including the requirements
of energy and water in the modern economic cities in the Kingdom.
Experts in the field of energy and water believe that the Kingdom
will be in need of investing more than $200 billion in water
desalination and power generation for meeting the requirements of the
increasing population and the giant projects due to be implemented in
the country.
