A PHOTOGRAPHIC TRIBUTE TO M'SIA'S FIRST PM
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 26 (Bernama) -- For a month beginning Nov 10, RA Fine Arts will showcase a different side to Malaysia's 'Founding Father' Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj at an exhibition.
Its director, Raja Ahmad Aminullah, said the photographs presented at the
exhibition, 'The Residency Years: Tunku Abdul Rahman - A Photographic Tribute'
would not be those taken on official functions.
Instead, the photographs will be those taken by the country's first prime
minister's nephew and adopted son, Syed Abdullah Barakhbah, who was practically
the family's unofficial photographer.
"The exhibition will show a different side of Tunku. A very unofficial side
of our first prime minister and his family at their residence which is now known
as Memorial Tunku Abdul Rahman.
"We will exhibit 106 photographs as last February was Tunku's 106th
birthday. Along with the exhibition, we will be publishing a book of the same
name," explained Raja Ahmad at a press conference here Thursday.
According to Raja Ahmad, the photographs would reflect Tunku at his home,
outside of official functions and office matters, with his family in a very
natural, relaxed every day surroundings.
