Democracy will be strong guard for revolution, says president
SANA'A, Sep.25 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh said that
democracy will be strong guard for the revolution.
In his speech to the nation on 46th anniversary of 26th September
revolution, president Saleh said that the democracy is a system of
life, which has been chosen by the Yemeni people to tackle their
issues associated with national interests.
Democratic and free competition is only way to make changes in
reality and show principle of power transfer, he said.
He called on all to avoid disputes or attempt to harm unity, social
peace and democracy , warning these who tried to damage security,
stability and unification of the nation.
Regarding the coming elections, president Saleh said that the
parliamentary elections would be held on time, affirming that
elections would be successful.
He also pointed out to the achievements in combating terrorism,
saying that the country has suffered from this "epidemic" which
impacted on its national economy and efforts of the development.
President Saleh said that the police are working to face those
terror elements who try to harm internets of the nation and its
ties with others.
He called on scholars, politicians, educated people, social figures,
citizens, media outlets, civil society organizations to shoulder
their responsibility to support security bodies to do their duties
to combat terror.
