Yemen affirms importance of Palestinian sovereignty

NEW YORK, Sep. 25 (Saba)- Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi
affirmed on Thursday the importance of adherence to the unified Arab
stance of the rights of the Palestinian people to gain sovereignty
on the Palestinian lands.

He emphasized the importance of the United Nations to be responsible
for all the Israeli violations of international agreements and
resolutions of the international legitimacy as well the delay of the
Israeli side of peace talks.

That was mentioned in his speech on the sidelines of the ministerial
meeting of the Arab League which was held on the sidelines of the
meeting of the UN General Assembly in New York.

The meeting discussed request of the Arab group to hold a special
session for Security Council to look at the issue of the expansion
of Israel in the Palestinian lands and its dangerous effects on
peace process in the Middle East.

They set September 26, 2008 for holding meeting of the Security
Council.
