Government office centre flooded, causing trouble to Thai officials

BANGKOK, November 1 (TNA) - The Chaeng Wattana Road in front of a centre of Thai government offices has been flooded, causing trouble to officials who returned to work on Tuesday morning after a six-day special long weekend holiday period, from October 27-31.
The Chaeng Wattana Road has now been submerged under about 70 centimetres of floodwater although areas inside the government cluster have remained dry.
In nearby Bang Khen area, Kasetsart University and the Kaset Intersection have also been inundated, causing a heavy traffic jam in the area. The floodwater at the Kaset Intersection, at about 30-40 centimetres deep, has also flooded adjacent Ngamwongwan Road.
In the other side of Kasetsart University, on Bangkok's Vibhavadi Rangsit, Road, the floodwater is about 50 centimetre-deep, causing impassable for vehicles.
Meanwhile, the Japanese government has provided a 12.8 million US dollar assistance, or about 395 million baht, to Thailand to support the Thai government's rehabilitation plans after the ongoing flooding crisis, the worst in the country's history. (TNA)
