Turkey condemns attacks in Afghanistan

ANKARA (A.A) - October 31, 2011 - Turkey condemned on Sunday the recent attacks staged in Afghanistan. Releasing a statement on Sunday, Turkish Foreign Ministry said, "Turkey strongly condemns the terrorist attack against a convoy of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Kabul and two other separate incidents against ISAF personnel and the Afghanistan National Directorate of Security (NDS) in the southern provinces of Afghanistan on October 29." "Several Coalition and Afghan soldiers, as well as innocent civilians were killed and injured as result of these heinous attacks, according to the initial reports," the ministry noted. It added, "we convey our condolences to the bereaved families of the victims of these tragic attacks and wish speedy recovery to the wounded. Turkey, as always, will continue to do her utmost to provide assistance for the assurance of peace, prosperity and security of the brotherly Afghan people."
