Nanavati Commission report an eyewash: Paswan
New Delhi, Sept 25 (PTI) Terming the Nanavati Commission report tabled in the Gujarat assembly as an "eyewash", the Lok Janshakti Party said on Thursday it did not agree with the findings.
"It is an eyewash...the Godhra incidents were
state-sponsored terrorism with an aim to garner political
gains and we do not agree with the findings of the report,"
said L.J.P. chief and Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan.
He claimed that though he has not read the complete
report "but going by what media has reported, it (the report)
can only be termed as an eyewash."
He recalled the statement of the then Prime Minister Atal
Bihari Vajpayee that 'raj dharma' was not being followed in
Gujarat.
"Even I had resigned as a Union minister in the Vajpayee
cabinet to protest the violence," he said.
The probe panel said the Sabarmati Express fire was a
"pre-planned conspiracy" and not an accident. PTI NAB
