Thai King asks military to fully assist flood victims

BANGKOK, October 28 (TNA) - His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and other members of the Royal Family have expressed concerns over hardships of people in all flood-hit areas, asking the Thai military to fully assist the flood victims.

Thai Army Commander-in-Chief General Prayuth Chan-ocha told reporters on Friday of the royal concerns, insisting that the Thai military has heeded the advice of His Majesty the King and other members of the Royal Family and will never leave the flood victims unattended, but to fully join forces with the government and other parties concerned in flood relief operations and to fight against the country's ongoing worst flooding.

Meanwhile, the Thai army chief accompanied Defence Minister General Yuthasak Sasiprapa to visit flood victims at a temporary shelter in Bang Yai area of Bangkok's suburban Nonthaburi Province and to inspect rising floodwater in the area, in which upstream water from the central Ayutthaya Province has kept flowing.
