Hynix sells partial stake in Chinese unit to partner
SEOUL, Sept. 25 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's Hynix Semiconductor Inc. said Thursday it decided to sell approximately 10 percent of its majority stake in its Chinese unit to one of its business partners.
Hynix's current 83-percent share in its plant in Wuxi, China, will be lowered to
72.3 percent, as Numonyx BV, a joint-venture between Intel Corp. and
STMicroelectronics NV, decided to purchase shares worth US$100 million.
Hynix and Numonyx signed a comprehensive tie-up deal last month to cooperate in
developing chips used in handsets and music players.
