Industrial estate confirms no leak of chemical substances
BANGKOK, October 15 (TNA) - The heavily-flooded Rojana Industrial Park in Thailand's central Ayutthaya Province confirmed on Saturday that there has been no leak of any deadly chemical substance.
Officials at the Rojana Industrial Park said that a transfer of hazardous cyanide substance by a plant to a safer area was made two days ago after the industrial estate was heavily inundated, insisting that the chemical substance was contained in safe containers since it was brought from overseas.
The officials reported that floodwater level at the Rojana Industrial Park was latest measured between 2.7-2.8 metres and the inundation level appeared to be stable; while attempts have been continued to protect the lives of workers who are taking care of assets of their flooded firms inside the huge industrial estate, with six speed boats carrying security guards and policemen patrolling the compound on a regular basis.
