PM AT BANQUET FOR CHANCELLOR

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ On Thursday, S.Batbold PM held a banquet in honour of the Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel.
The Premier said he is glad that the visit of the Chancellor took place in the year heralded by the 2220th anniversary of the first Mongolian Statehood--Hun Empire, the 805th anniversary of the Great Mongol Empire and the 100th anniversary of the National Movement for Freedom.
“Your visit is an expression of widening of the friendly relations and cooperation between our countries,” the Premier stressed, and expressed a hope it will bring the bilateral relations and cooperation into a new level.
The PM pointed out that widening the comprehensive partnership relations is one of the priorities of Mongolia's foreign policy concept. “Germany is the biggest partner of Mongolia in Europe. Our government intends to expand the ties and cooperation with the European Union, to establish a partnership and cooperation agreement and to introduce the European standards, principles and norms,” S.Batbold said.
Mrs Merkel expressed a satisfaction with visiting Mongolia and thanked the Premier for the warm audience. She invited the Premier to pay Germany an official visit.
