Policeman shoots himself in apparent suicide

SEOUL, Sept. 25 (Yonhap) -- A police officer shot himself to death Thursday at a
Seoul inspection facility in an apparent suicide driven by personal reasons,
investigators said.
The officer, whose name was withheld, of the Jongno Police Station shot himself
in the throat with a .36-caliber revolver at around 8:50 a.m. inside the
Segeomjeong inspection facility, police said.
"We are trying to find out details," a police officer at the Jongno station said,
requesting anonymity.
He left a suicide note, but police refused to elaborate on its content.
Several police officers and soldiers were on duty at the inspection facility in
central Seoul, but could not prevent the suicide as it occurred inside an adjunct
office, police said.
