First-car buyer program kicks off at BITEC
BANGKOK, October 11 (TNA) - The Thai government’s first-car buyer program has officially been launched at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC) in Bang-na District in eastern Bangkok.
Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Kittiratt Na-Ranong presided over the opening ceremony of the program at the BITEC on Tuesday.
Under the scheme, the government offers tax rebates for first-time car buyers but their vehicles must not be worth more than one million baht with an engine capacity of up to 1,500cc. The tax rebate is capped at 100,000 baht per buyer.
At the event, officials of the Excise Department, the Credit Bureau, and finance and insurance companies will offer advice to visitors about the first-car buyer program. The four-day event, running from October 11 to 14, is expected to draw 50,000 visitors daily. (TNA)
