STATE HEAD MEETS ADB PRESIDENT

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The President Ts.Elbegdorj and the ADB head Mr Haruhiko Kuroda have expressed a mutual satisfaction with the outcome of Mongolia-ADB cooperation.
At the meeting, held October 10, Mr Elbegdorj apprecitated the ADB for its help given to Mongolia in difficult times and for implementing fruitful projects and programs.
Mr Kuroda has attended here a partnership forum dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Mongolia-Asian Development Bank (ADB) cooperation.
"We are on the threshold of a new era of the cooperation, and is vital to maintain good policy and effective cooperation in times of the intensive development of Mongolia," said the President.
Mongolia is suffering from a dependence on imported oil products, "so we intend to launch a big project, and I hope that the ADB will collaborate with Mongolia in tackling this and other matters," he went on.
In turn, Mr Kuroda noted that further assistance and support will be dedicated to Mongolia's transport, energy, water supply, infrastructure, education and health spheres.
Since 1991, the ADB has given Mongolia 45 loans amounting USD 794 million and implemented 12 projects costing USD 172 million, besides, a technical assistance of USD 86 million and non-refundable aid of USD 31 million have been given as well.
