S. Korea, New Zealand to hold preparatory talks on free trade agreement

SEOUL, Sept. 25 (Yonhap) -- South Korea and New Zealand will hold preparatory talks next week over a free trade agreement, the Trade Ministry said Thursday.

During the two-day talks that start on Monday in Seoul, officials from the two
countries will discuss a variety of issues related to a possible free trade deal,
according to the ministry.
Both the sides have completed a feasibility study for a free trade deal.
South Korea currently has free trade pacts with Chile, Singapore and the European
Free Trade Association (EFTA), comprising Switzerland, Norway, Ireland and
Lichtenstein. The country is awaiting the ratification of a free trade pact with
the United States that was signed in June last year.
South Korea is also negotiating with the European Union over a free trade agreement.
