BOI to help flood-affected factories

BANGKOK, October 10 (TNA) - The Thai Board of Investment (BOI) says it has implemented a series of measures to help factories doomed by the country’s ongoing floods, the worst in a decade.
BOI Secretary Atchaka Sribunruang said on Monday affected operators that have received promotional privileges from the BOI are allowed to move their machinery and raw materials from flood-battered areas immediately to avoid further damages.
Atchaka said the BOI already has measures to help the operators nationwide, for instance, those wishing to import replacement machineries will be exempted from tariffs. (TNA)
