Thai King wants simple birthday celebrations amid flooding crisis
BANGKOK, October 8 (TNA) - His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej wants celebrations for his birthday late this year to be simple, as people in almost all parts of Thailand are suffering from worst floods in two decades.
When conveying the revered Thai monarch's remarks to the public on Friday, Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn, His Majesty's youngest child, said that the beloved Thai monarch has been concerned over the country's ongoing flooding crisis and has provided royal advice to relevant authorities on how to ease or solve the vast inundations.
Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn noted that His Majesty the King's advanced age and illness have stopped him from visiting his suffering subjects. The revered and beloved Thai monarch turns 84 on December 5, 2011. (TNA)
