US-Yemeni relations remained normal after attack, al-Qirbi says

SANA'A, Sep 24 (Saba) - Foreign minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi said the
last attack on Yemen US embassy has not affected the bilateral
relationship between Yemen and the US, however, he says there was a
US understanding of the incident.

Al-Qirbi said the US-Yemeni relations remained normal after the
attack, adding the US announced it will not stop cooperating with
the Yemeni government in fighting terrorists.

The state-run 26sep.net quoted al-Qirbi as saying the US extolled
Yemen's efforts to investigate the incident which bore the hallmarks
of al-Qaeda.

Al-Qirbi says Yemen receives international support in the war
against terror, but this support is insufficient and does not meet
big challenges facing Yemen with terrorist groups.

Al-Qirbi noted Yemen has plans to explain difficulties Yemen is
facing in the fight on terrorism to international countries and
donors to get more support.

Al-Qirbi also said in an interview with the al-Mithaq newspapers
last Thursday that there have been Yemeni-US talks to establish a
center in the country to re-qualify the returnees from the
Guantanamo bay to include them in society and help them get rid of
extremism thoughts.
