PR. SMITH GIVES REPORT ON AIR POLLUTION
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ A Nobel Prize laureate in peace and co-ordinator of the Masters Program in Global Health and Environment at the Social Health School of the University of California professor Kirk R. Smith is visiting Mongolia at invitation of the Vice Minister of Health.
Mr Smith delivered a report at a seminar themed "Reducing air pollution originated from Ger areas" co-organized Thursday by the Health and Mineral Resources Ministries.
Professor Smith underlined in his report that the air pollution level in Mongolia reached a peak due to coal for fuel. "This is a main factor of various illnesses and disorders among people, but there is no real achievement to prevent it," he said.
