Thailand to join "Expo 2012 Yeosu"

BANGKOK, October 5 (TNA) - The Thai Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR), under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, has been selected to represent the country at the “Expo 2012 Yeosu”, to be held from May 12 to August 12, 2012 in South Korea.

DMCR on Wednesday unveiled in detail its presentation in “Expo 2012 Yeosu”, one of the three major expos in the world. The presentation showed a Thai Pavilion showcasing Thailand's visions on marine and coastal resources preservation by the theme “Colors of Diversity: Capacity of Thailand”.

The Thai pavilion will also house characters from the classic Thai literature “Phra Apai Mani”, to depict the story of Thailand’s marine and coastal resources preservation, which have also been inspired from Their Majesties King and Queen's philosophy and initiatives.

Up to nine hundred thousand people are expected to visit pavilion per day, with the site expected to become one of the five most-visited sites at the expo. (TNA)
