BPH MIGAS TO RECONSIDER CEPU'S FLOATING STORAGE FACILITY
Jakarta, Sept 24 (ANTARA) - Downstream oil and gas regulatory agency (BPH Migas) will re-examine the plan proposed by Mobil Cepu Limited (MCL), subsidiary of ExxonMobil Oil Indonesia, to build a floating storage facility for oil from the Cepu block.
Head of BPH Migas Priyono said here Wednesday his side will always be ready for studying the plan.
"If the legislators ak, we will examine it again," Priyono said.
"However, based on technical and economic examinations by US consultant Moffat and Nicole, the building of a floating storage is much more profitable than the on-land storage," he explained, adding that Pertamina in Cepu as MCL's partner had agreed on the plan.
Previously, the House of Representatives inquiry committee on oil and gas management asked BPH Migas to cancel the building of the floating storage for fear of causing a state's loss of up to 1.2 billion USD.
