TAUFIK STRUGGLES FOR CHINESE LAST 16

Jakarta, Sept 24 (ANTARA) - Seventh seeded Taufik Hidayat had to struggle hard in 55 minutes to beat Malaysian Muhamad Hafiz Hashim 17-21, 21-13, 22-20.

Competing in Changzhou Olympic Sports Center, Chang Zhou, JIangsu Province, China, Wednesday, Taufik lost the first game after leading 11-9, but left behind Hafiz 21-17 and won.

But the Athens champion and Asian Games resurrected to claim the second game 21-13, forced a decisive game set.

Taufik seems to experience another loss when he was left 17-19 on the third game.

The world's 13th top plyer also admitted he lost from the world's 31st top player the Malaysian athlete. "But thank God I won the game," said the player who is still pursuing his first tittle this year.
