Diplomats from 16 countries visit Thai development project

BANGKOK, October 2 (TNA) - Thailand-based diplomats from 16 countries and their spouses have visited a development project initiated by Their Majesties the King and Queen, aimed at boosting the livelihood of the villagers and advancing the country further.
Accompanied by Foreign Affairs Ministry officials, the diplomats and their spouses visited the Royal Development Project in Yang-Noi village in Khuang Nai District of the northeastern province of Ubon Ratchathani.
During the visit, the diplomats and their spouses inspected a pilot farm project in which herbs and organic vegetables are grown, silk worms are raised and brown rice made. Without doubt, they were pleased to have visited the project, especially the making of brown rice which could add value to the farmers.
The visit was organised under a programme to enable foreign diplomats based in the kingdom to learn and simultaneously have a confidence that Thailand has a potential in moving forward, both economically and agriculturally, by employing villagers knowledge. Several similar projects are seen in other parts of the country and they are initiated by the beloved King and Queen. (TNA)
