Qatar Provides Great and Effective Support to Palestinian Leadership in UN Bid

Tehran, October 01 (QNA) -HE Qatar's Advisory (Shura) Council Speaker Mohammad bin Mubarak Al Kholeifi has underlined that the Fifth International Conference for Supporting the Palestinian Intifada, which opened in the Iranian capital, Tehran today, was held under very international and regional critical circumstances and accelerated changes and developments. He noted that the meeting will discuss one of the most important issues of concern to the Islamic nation, the Palestinian issue (Palestine, which fell into the hands of Israel through the conspiracy of the major countries.
Addressing the conference, HE al Kholeifi referred to the Palestinians suffering from the brutality of the Israeli occupation, the killing, siege, intimidation of the citizens of isolation and destruction of facilities, infrastructure, building of settlements and the apartheid wall and work on Judaizing Jerusalem, in violation of the all the international resolutions.
He stressed that the return of Palestinian refugees to their homes, stop building settlements, the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state on the Palestinian soil, with Jerusalem as its capital, is the only guarantee for achieving peace in the Middle East.
HE Al Kholeifi said that the State of Qatar under the leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, has provided great, influential and effective support for the Palestinian leadership move towards the UN Security Council seeking for full membership of the State of Palestine in the international organization. He said Qatar also supported all taken steps by the Palestinian Authority to realize this very important achievement for the Palestinian people. HE Al Kholeifi referred to HH the Emir's speech at the 66th UN General Assembly session in which he called on all members states to listen to the voice of the truth and to respond to the legitimate request of the Palestinians for a Palestinian state with full membership in the international organization, with equal footing with other nations of the world, and thus paving the way for achieving peace in our region.
HE Al Kholeifi stressed that the State of Qatar believes that a just and lasting peace in the region will only be achieved by Israel commitment to the international legitimacy resolutions.
HE Al Kholefi urged the international community to shoulder its responsibilities in support of the Palestinians legitimate rights, as well as ending the unjust siege on the Gaza Strip and to support the demand of the Palestinian authority to accept Palestine full membership in the United Nations.(QNA)
