FM: Thailand to promote national reconciliation, int’l relations

BANGKOK, September 28 (TNA) - Thai foreign minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul has told the United Nations General Assembly that the Thai government is determined to promote national reconciliation as well as good relations with neighbouring countries.

In his address to the 66th UNGA session in New York on Tuesday night, Surapong articulated Thai government policies, priorities, and stances toward contemporary global development issues.

Surapong underscored that the Thai government is committed to implementing people-centered policies and aims to bring about sustainable development to the country’s economic infrastructure.

On foreign relations, Surapong said the Thai government aims to boost relations and build mutual trust with neighbouring countries as well as those beyond the Southeast Asian region. He pointed out that good relations, trust and respect are keys to the establishment of the ASEAN Community. (TNA)
