Damlouji: the IS will adopt a positive stance towards nominating Agheeli for the Integrity Commission
Baghdad (NINA) – official Spokeswoman for the Iraqiya Slate, Maysoun Al Damlouji, announced that the slate will adopt a positive stance in case Raheem Al Agheeli was proposed to be re-elected to preside over the Integrity Commission.
She told NINA today that “despite that the IS did not discuss that issue, but, at the same time it will not mind it and will adopt a positive stance towards re-electing Agheeli for the post.”
She added “Agheeli adopted good stances when he was Chairman of the IC, therefore, the IS does not have any objections against re-electing him.”
Agheeli submitted his resignation to the Prime Minister, Nouri Al Maliki, who for his part approved it.
After the endorsement of the of the IC law; it is now linked to the Parliament in issues like assigning a chairman for it. Some MPs announced that they support possibility of re-electing Agheeli as IC chairman.
