BE WARY OF FREE MILK BASED PRODUCTS FROM CHINA DURING FESTIVAL
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 24 (Bernama) -- The Health Ministry has advised
consumers not to accept free milk based products from China during
Aidilfitri (marking the end of fasting month).
Safety and food quality division director Noraini Mohd Othman said
consumers with doubts on certain products could contact her office at
03-8833655/03-88833503 for further information.
She urged traders to check their inventory to screen for milk based
products from China and remove them from the shelf.
They should also contact the district health office or the state health
department for further action.
Importers or agents of milk based products from China were urged to stop
importation and were prohibited from selling products at their disposal.
Melamine is an industrial material used to manufacture plastic and
fertiliser and can create kidney stones in babies.
