PRESIDENT TAKES AWARD FOR FREEDOM

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The President Ts.Elbegdorj has been awarded with the Supreme Award for Freedom from the U.S Foreign Policy Association and the National Endowment for Democracy. The award presenting ceremony was held September 22 in the Saint Regis hotel, New York City, attracting some 100 delegates.
A leader of the Leading Board of the Harford Foundation Mr. Robert Miller highlighted the democratic revolution of Mongolia which is done in a peaceful way was one of the wonders of the country's democracy. Then Mongolians managed to approve their Constitution that ensures human rights and freedom and supports the market economics, Mr. Miller added, at the ceremony.
The decree on awarding the Mongolian President states that Ts.Elbegdorj is presented with the Supreme Award for leadership in the cause of democracy and for significant contributions to bravely starting the democratic acts in Mongolia. This awarded was granted by Carl Gershman, the president of the National Endowment for Democracy.
Ts.Elbegdorj expressed his satisfaction with the award and pledged to make his endeavor for ensuring democracy, human rights and freedom.
