Doha, September 25 (QNA) - HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada has said the current demand for oil is affected by global economic growth.
The expectations and performance of the global economy as well as the issues of debt crisis in some countries, especially in Europe, are key factors in determining oil prices, Al Sada said while stressing that the global oil market are well supplied.
Talking to reporters on the margins of 'Qatar Oil & Gas Industry Safety Excellence Awards 2010', HE the Minister of Energy and Industry said the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC)'s members are watching closely developments on supply, demand and prices, pointing out that these issues will be discussed among others in the next OPEC meeting scheduled to be held in December this year.
Replaying to a question on the return of Libya's oil production and its impact on prices, Al Sada said global economic growth will continue to be a key player in determining oil prices, saying that Libya had already started production and it is an essential part of the oil producers and exporters community.
He also expressed hope to see the return of Libya's oil production and export to normal.
