Uzbek national airline commissions air terminal of domestic routes in Tashkent

The national airline of Uzbekistan "Uzbekistan Havo Yullari" (Uzbekistan Airways) commissioned a new air terminal of domestic routes in Tashkent worth $52 million, the airline said on Monday.
"From Monday, Sept.26, all flights from Tashkent to local destinations will be carried out from the "Tashkent-3" terminal , the report said.
As it was reported, the construction of new air terminal of domestic airlines was completed in August. A two-storey air terminal that meets international standards has a capacity of 400 passengers per hour.
The estimate project of the air terminal was developed by JSC "Tashgiprogor". The project was financed at the expense of centralized capital investments, as well as own funds of "Uzbekistan Airways".
In total in 2011-2015, Uzbekistan Airways plans to implement 13 investment projects to develop ground infrastructure with a total cost of $179.1 million.
The program will be funded at the expense of own funds of the airline in the amount of $68 million, loans of the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan in the amount of $52.5 million, foreign credits - $ 5.2 million and the state budget funds - $22.8 million.
Uzbekistan Airways, the monopoly carrier in Uzbekistan, is wholly owned by the state. Uzbek airline carries out flights to 21 cities of Europe, the United States, the Middle East, Asia and 22 cities of the CIS countries.
In 2010, the company increased its passenger transportation by 14.3 percent as compared to 2009 - to 2.16 million passengers, freight traffic - 1.63 times - to 43,500 tons.
