Qatar Takes Part in International Forum on Monitoring National Development

Doha, September 25 (QNA) - The State of Qatar takes part in the International Forum on Monitoring National Development, due to be held in Beijing, the People's Republic of China on 27-29 September.
Chairman of Qatar Statistics Authority (QSA) HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jabor bin Jassim Al Thani heads Qatar's delegation to this event, where he is scheduled to brief the participating delegations on the national development issues and QSA's role in analyzing the development data.
Held under the theme "Issues and Challenges", the Forum is being jointly organised by the National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS), the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) and the World Bank (WB).
National statistics offices are being asked to assemble increasingly sophisticated datasets to guide the formulation and monitoring of national development policies.
The Forum will examine how new statistical frameworks are evolving to reflect the needs of researchers and policy makers and the demands they are placing on the capacities of national statistical offices.
Forum participants will have the opportunity to discuss their experience and current activities. They will also discuss how capacity development efforts could be designed and geared up to assist developing countries to meet these data challenges.
