Seoul exhibition introduces latest defense technologies
SEOUL, Sept. 24 (Yonhap) -- South Korea will introduce its latest defense technologies Wednesday, including a device with the capability to neutralize biological and chemical weapons through electrical discharge using only air and water, the country's defense procurement office said.
The new technologies and defense items will be on public display for the first
time in an exhibition organized by the Defense Acquisition Program Administration
(DAPA).
"The civilian owned defense technologies on display will be applied in pursuing
new weapons development projects, while some will be designated as Advanced
Concept Technology and used in further development," the DAPA said in a press
release.
The exhibition begins at 2 p.m. at the Korea Institute for Defense Analyses in
northeastern Seoul.
Also on display is a new weapon that uses noise to temporarily incapacitate its
targets, as well as four other defense related items and technologies, according
to the DAPA.
