HH the Emir of Qatar Attends Part of UN General Assembly Session
New York, September 23 (QNA) - HH the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani on Friday attended part of the third day of the 66th UN General Assembly session.
HH the Emir was accompanied by HE Deputy Premier and Chief of the Emiri Diwan Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah, as well as a number of the their Excellencies members of the official delegation accompanying HH the Emir. HH the Emir listened to the speech of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
Abbas stressed in his speech that the time has come for an independent Palestine. He called on all the people in the world to stand by the side of the Palestinian people as they reach their historic date with freedom and independence.
He added that the time has also come to put an end to the suffering and displacement of the Palestinian refugees. He warned that Israel, through changing the situation on the ground, was trying to draw a different border for Palestine rather than that of June 5th, 1967. He added that the Israeli policy threatens to destroy the Palestinian Authority.
