MINISTER: LNG SUPPLIES FOR TERMINAL MAY BE IMPORTED
Jakarta, Sept 23 (ANTARA) - Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro said it would be alright to import Liquefied Natural Gas to meet LNG consumption in Bojanegara, Banten.
"If the economical value fits, just do it," he said after sending 16 officials of the ministry for a fit and proper test at the House of Representatives here Tuesday.
He said the economical value based on the price of imported LNG lower than local prices.
Purnomo said that for the local market, LNG supplies could came from Tangguh, Papua, and Senoro, West Sulawesi.
The joint state enterprises include national gas distributor PT PGN acting the 'Lead', while state oil and gas company PT Pertamina and state power company PT PLN would build an LNG terminal in Bojaneghara to have a production capacity of three million tons per year.
They have signed a deal with Total Indonesia on the supply of 1.5 million tons LNG per year from Bontang, East Kalimantan. Indonesia.
