Thailand plans to increase revenues for SMEs
BANGKOK, September 22 (TNA) - Thailand expects to secure large orders for local SMEs from the 8th China International SME Fair held in the Chinese city of Guangzhou.
Industry Minister Wannarat Charnnukul on Thursday led over 200 Thai SME entrepreneurs from five business sectors namely food and beverage, cosmetics and spa, fashion, electronics and film to the second biggest international trade fair, running from September 22-25.
Wannarat said the trade fair has provided a good opportunity for Thai SMEs to do businesses with Chinese and international businessmen, acknowledging that Thai SMEs should be able to secure orders for their products worth at least 450 million baht in the fair and that their order value will grow in the future after participating in the fair.
The Industry Minister also said he is confident of Thai businesses can compete with other countries in international trade and cope with the new phase of economic sphere once Thailand becomes the member of the ASEAN Economic Community in 2015. (TNA)
