Thailand’s trade value with FTA partners soar

BANGKOK, September 21 (TNA) - Thailand’s trade value with its free trade partners namely Australia, New Zealand and Japan have grown considerably.

Deputy Director-General of the Department of Trade Negotiations Veerachai Nopsuwannawong reported that the volume of Thai exports to Australia tripled from 3,220 million US dollars to 10,784 million US dollars between the 1999-2010 period.

Veerachai said the trade value between Thailand and New Zealand, meanwhile, rose from 424 million US dollars to 1,039 million US dollars, while with Japan from 37,098 million US dollars to 49,787 million US dollars.

The trade authority said however, his office was planning to hold more seminars on free trade to encourage Thai operators to fully exercise their trade privileges. (TNA)
