Vietnam coffee makers seek partners in UK

London (VNA) - Vietnamese coffee makers met up with UK businesses at a
workshop in London on Sept. 22 to seek experiences and partners for the
ind ustry's development.

The chairman of Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (Vicofa) Luong Van
Tu said the lack of capital is the biggest challenge to Vietnam ese
producers, most of which are of small and medium sizes.

He went on to say that poor financial capacity has hindered local
businesses efforts to apply new coffee farming and post-harvest techniques
for better product quality and sustainable development.

Gary Milsted, the manager of Nestle coffee buying centre in the UK ,
said the centre was willing to help Vietnamese businesses improve their
products quality and ensure stable supply.
The UK is one of the 10 largest importers of Vietnamese
coffee, according to An The Dung, the Vietnamese commercial counselor to the
UK.-
