Maliki renews his welcome to the British, European companies in Iraq

Baghdad (NINA) – Prime Minister, Nouri Al Maliki, renewed his welcome to the British and European companies in Iraq.

A statement issued by Maliki’s office mentioned that he received in his office member of the European Parliament, Baroness Emma Nicolson, and stressed that “the Iraqi government supports all efforts that could provide the best services for Iraqis to contribute in construction and reconstruction.”

Maliki called on the British and European companies to reach deals with the National Investment Commission, appreciating at the same time the efforts being made to support women and the other layers of the community.

For her part, Nicolson said she is carrying many projects with her that aim at serving the Iraqi women and support her; in addition the other layers in the society, adding that she needs the Iraqi government’s assistance.

She went on saying “a British and European desire that their companies contribute in investment in Iraq.”

Present at the meeting were British ambassador Michael Aaron.
