Suhail, UNAMI discuss preparations for formation of the new IHEC
Baghdad (NINA) – First Deputy of the Parliament Speaker, Qusay Al Suhail, discussed with a delegation from the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq UNAMI preparations for formation of the new Independent High Electoral Commission.
A statement issued by his office mentioned that “Suhail received today a delegation from UNAMI headed by Head of Advisors of the Mission, Jose Maria Arnaz, and discussed with him the role that UNAMI could play in the formation of the new IHEC.”
Suhail pointed out that the parliament pays a great attention to forming a new IHEC so that it would carry out its mission in the coming electoral obligations.
For his part, Arnaz expressed UNAMI’s readiness to provide all forms of support to members of the new IHEC through holding training courses for them.
