MINISTER TO PERSONALLY MONITOR FUEL STOCKS, ELECTRICITY DURING HOLIDAYS
Jakarta, Sept 23 (ANTARA) - Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro said he would personally monitor the readiness of fuel oil stocks and electricity supply during the Idul Fitri holidays.
"The government guarantees fuel oil stocks and electricity supply. I will personally monitor their readiness," the minister said here Tuesday.
He said he would do the monitoring by inspecting a number of fuel oil depots and electricity supply facilities as well as 'command posts' set up to ensure their smooth functioning.
Besides the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry, PT Pertamina and PT PLN had also set up fuel oil and electricity supply command posts.
"The Energy and Mineral Resource Ministry's command posts also monitor conditions of the ground at points along the routes of Idul Firti travelers and tourism sites prone to landslides," he said.
The minister especially called on Pertamina to give proper compensation to people at its fuel oil depots and its agents who had to work during the Idul Fitri holidays.
