American Business Council to emphasize unlocking, unleashing true potential of Pakistan’s private sector
Karachi, September 14, 2011 (PPI): American Business Council (ABC) is planning on commencing a signature event - The American Business Council Economic Summit 2011 with inaugural session on September 17 at Karachi.
Prominent speakers including Shaukat Tarin- Silk Bank, Jahangir Khan Tareen- MNA, Nadeem Naqvi- MD Karachi Stock Exchange, Saleem Mandviwala- BOI & Shabbar Zaidi- Partner A.F. Ferguson, among others will share their insights and answer queries or challenges.
Topic for Summit is Unlocking True Potential, Boosting Pakistan’s Private Sector, as ABC strongly believes that future of Pakistan lies in a vibrant private sector - a thriving private sector, possible through good governance and conducive government policies can influence economic development positively.
ABC office bearers, along with speakers, will address requirements for government policies regarding corporatization, creating competitive environment, inspiring confidence among business community and investors. Speakers will also discuss economy, GDP’s track record and plan to target ‘double digit GDP growth’ via boosting private sector.
ABC believes private sector will be single most critical pillar for future growth and its vibrancy can only be unleashed with help of proper policies, support, encouragement by government. ABC formed in 1984, is largest single-country business chamber in the country with close to 70 members.
